Practice Management
With today's increasingly challenging and changing health-care environment, the ACCP has recognized the need to strengthen the Practice Management Department to serve its members who face constant, ever-expanding practice management requirements.
Historically, physicians have focused on the clinical practice of medicine. With the implementation of managed care and reimbursement by relative value units, physicians have been forced to take more responsibility for running their practices like a business. During medical school and throughout their training, physicians do not receive the needed education on the business side of running a medical practice. Consequently, many physicians now look to specialty societies, such as the ACCP, to provide education and leadership in the practice management arena. |
