Center of Excellence for Learning and Teaching
Through Research and Development of Continuing Medical Education

Recognition of
Educational Excellence

Achievement Through
ACCP Continuing Medical Education in 2006

The ACCP Center of Excellence for Learning and Teaching is an educational resource for members of the medical community who are searching for a practical source of information related to diseases of the chest. The primary intention of this Web resource and that of ACCP's Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities relates to three objectives:

  1. To improve physicians and the health-care team's teaching and learning skills.

  2. To improve physicians and their health-care team's practice by having access to educational tools that facilitate improved outcomes in health care.

  3. To support the maintenance of current knowledge and competence.

Although not all CME practitioners are involved in teaching, our assumptions about teaching and learning clearly influence our day-to-day practices. The ACCP Center of Excellence for Learning and Teaching facilitates the interaction between teachers and learners to discover approaches to planning and conducting CME research within the ACCP and assessing educational initiatives' impact on health care. If you have additional ideas or suggestions on how this resource can be more useful to you, please e-mail edellert@chestnet.org.
