Join Us in Philadelphia
Exhibits and scientific sessions will take place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
On behalf of the ACCP President and Board of Regents, it is a pleasure to invite you to attend CHEST 2008. I am sure you will find the program very useful and stimulating. To ensure the quality of the program, all the proposals submitted by the ACCP NetWorks and members were graded and selected on the basis of their merit. A template allocating percentages to all topics in pulmonary medicine, critical care medicine, and sleep medicine was adhered to, ensuring that the annual meeting remains balanced. In addition, provisions have been made, so cutting-edge, groundbreaking sessions can be added to the program, giving you the latest information possible.
Set in the beautiful and historic city of Philadelphia, with over 500 nationally and internationally renowned speakers, CHEST 2008 promises to be a unique and memorable educational, professional, and social experience. We look forward to seeing you there.

Dear Colleague:
On behalf of the CHEST 2008 Program Committee and the ACCP leadership and staff, I invite you to CHEST 2008 in my hometown of Philadelphia! We fully expect CHEST 2008 to be another exceptional meeting in a long line of outstanding events. The CHEST 2008 Program Committee, under the leadership of Chair Suhail Raoof, MD, FCCP, and Vice-Chair COL Lisa K. Moores, MC, USA, FCCP, and the support of ACCP Educational Resources Vice President Ed Dellert, and his staff, has developed a superb program.
The meeting will continue to provide thorough coverage of relevant clinical and research topics in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine through symposia, lectures, and abstracts. We will again have a Simulation Center, with five stations that will include critical care, adult airways, and ultrasonography. The Literature Review Sessions will be expanded from 12 to 16 topics, with two, 90-minute sessions each day. The Self-study Clinical Library continues and will be expanded this year. New to the program—twice a day Clinical Case Puzzlers, with presentation and discussion of case reports by master clinicians, radiologists, and pathologists.
Make sure that you attend the Convocation Ceremony, and hear our incoming ACCP President, James A. L. Mathers, Jr., MD, FCCP, present his vision for his upcoming presidential year. During the Convocation Ceremony, we also honor our new ACCP Fellows and present awards to many distinguished scientists. It is, truly, an exciting evening!
Philadelphia is a wonderful venue for the meeting. It has many historic attractions, great museums, and a choice of excellent ethnic cuisine. Enjoy the meeting!
