In between the presentations, there will be plenty of time for questions and answers.

A number of challenging dilemmas in pulmonary medicine frequently vex the clinician. Interstitial lung disease, pulmonary arterial hypertension, and venous thromboembolismare some of the diseases causing these dilemmas. Our goal will be to offer a concise overview of each of these potentially fatal pulmonary diseases and leave the attendee with some pearls to help with the management of these patients. There will be presentation of recent data, as well as reinforcement of less recent, but crucial, information. Please note that this is a non-CME event.

A buffet dinner will be served at 6:00 pm, and the meeting will start at 7:00 pm.

United Therapeutics
Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension: The Great Debate

There are many opinions about pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and its treatments. Listen as “party leaders” make their cases during a symposium sponsored by United Therapeutics titled, “PAH: The Great Debate.” The format for this timely, election-style debate symposium will be unlike anything you’ve seen before. You will participate in grilling the candidates and select the most compelling arguments for either status quo or change. PAH heavyweights will present the data, dispute the claims, and rebut the opposition. We live in a democratic society, so you will be asked to vote on the arguments throughout the meeting. Watch the sparks fly on October 28, 2008, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Remember, every vote counts!
